Hell Hole Gator Run 5K: A First Place Victory for Cynthia Cave
May 3, 2025 | Jamestown, SC
On May 3, 2025, I participated in the Hell Hole Gator Run 5K as part of the annual Hell Hole Swamp Festival in Jamestown, South Carolina. The race started deep in the woods, with a great course that eventually ended on the road. It was a beautiful and enjoyable run, proving that even with a challenging name, good things can happen.
While there were no major physical obstacles to overcome in this race, I was able to learn that God's presence is in all of his creation. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised to win first place in my age group! The unique trophy — a plaque with a small gator head — was a fun reminder that a beautiful victory can be found even in a "swamp."
It's a wonderful reminder that good things happen all throughout God's creation, regardless of the name! My faith continues to guide me to see God's hand in all things, and I can't wait for my next race. If you're looking for a running partner, feel free to contact me!
