Mom's Day 5K: Celebrating Community and Faith with Cynthia Cave
May 10, 2025 | Charleston, SC
Just before Mother's Day, I had the privilege of running in the Mom's Day 5K at Philip Simmons High School in Charleston, SC. This was an inspirational run with an incredible purpose: to support Postpartum Support Charleston’s mission of providing vital maternal mental health resources, peer support, and community connections to moms facing postpartum depression, anxiety, and OCD. It was so great to run alongside so many other moms as we celebrated the community that supports us. I was even able to place first in my age group!
This race was a powerful reminder of how we are all called to bear one another's burdens. It’s a beautiful thing to see a community come together, not just for a race, but to provide strength and encouragement to those who need it most. Running can be a solitary sport, but on this day, it felt like a powerful expression of faith and solidarity. My heart was full as I crossed the finish line, knowing that every step was helping a great cause.
It's a wonderful reminder that good things happen all throughout God's creation, regardless of the name! My faith continues to guide me to see God's hand in all things, and I can't wait for my next race. If you're looking for a running partner, feel free to contact me!
